Grant Review status:

FEMA AFG Grants:

The AFG application period which closed on March 8, 2024 received a total of 7,962 applications. A total of $3.7 billion of federal funding was requested. Technical review of high scoring applications was started the week of May 27. Award announcements are expected to begin in late June and continue through August 2024.

FEMA SAFER Grants:

A total of 2,161 applications were submitted with a total requested federal funding of $3.1 billion. Peer review panel for SAFER applications was held the week of June 10.  High scoring applications will enter the technical review phase of the application review process. Awards are expected to be made beginning in July and continue through September 2024.

WA DNR Volunteer Fire Assistance Grants 

Phase II applications will be accepted October to December 2024.

NEW FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

Numerous funding opportunities are currently available to address fire district operational needs with regard to climate change.  These include such items as funding provided to enhance power needs through solar installations or battery storage facilities.  Contact us for more information.
